The invention relates to spacecraft and aircraft with a ground effect and provides improvements to their engines, to their thrusters, to the machine recommended for machining the toric pistons of these engines. The engine represented is a two-stroke engine with toric free pistons that the explosions stop and throw backwards; this engine which, like the rocket, is capable of propelling in any medium, will very probably consume 1000 times less than the rocket. The thrusters will make it possible to reach the speed of light, and the engines will make it possible to reach escape velocity. It is probable that they will make it possible to reach habitable planets which we have one chance in two of finding less than 24 light years away, and will make it possible to construct orbital factories sending solar energy to earth. <IMAGE>
