The vehicle drive module (12) is mounted to the rear of the driver's cab (18), and a derricking boom (14) is fitted to its super-structure. In the initial lowered position the boom extends over the drive module and beyond the rear end of the vehicle. The boom derricks on a transverse spindle (16) fixed to the chassis, its bottom section (20) forming a guide for a lifting crab travelling as far as its outermost end. ADVANTAGE - Facility for repair work, using its own boom only.
