摘要 The present invention relates to a circuit arrangement for controlling the power of illumination systems which are preferably fitted with discharge lamps - primarily high-pressure mercury- and sodium-discharge lamps. It is the object of the invention to create the possibility of optimum reduction of the power of street lighting systems with simple means by means of a circuit of simple design, and at the same time the changeover from full-load operation to reduced power, this value being continuously preselectable within certain limits, can be carried out automatically, triggered by a simple on/off command, preferably in such a way that a supply voltage phase is connected thereto or disconnected. The invention consists in that the control circuit of the phase-gating circuit has a regulating circuit and a circuit for the reduction of the lamp power, in that the circuit for the reduction of the lamp power is designed so that the phase gating can be slowly shifted continuously in very small steps, and in that the regulating circuit is designed so that it can influence the phase-gating circuit (1) in the state of reduced lamp power for producing regulating effects which oppose the supply voltage fluctuations, so that the lamp power which has been set to the reduced state is kept constant.
