The invention relates to a multi-function cell in silicon planar technology having an npn transistor and two integrated resistors which at the same represent a vertical pnp transistor or serve as four-layer intersection for at least three current paths which are insulated from each other. In addition, the base-emitter pn-junction of the npn transistor performs the function of an irreversible switch for programming circuit structures, for balancing resistor decades or for matching current paths in electronic and integrated circuits.
