The drive is esp. for use for the forming of sheet metal at high speeds. It has a converter to transform the rotary movement of he drive wheels, into a straight press ram movement; and second movement system, the transmission functions of which are superimposed during a certain ram stroke phase. The ram (2) has a double-sided working cylinder with differential piston. The telescopic piston (6) of a cylinder (5), pref. fixed in the ram, is driven by a height adjustable stop (7) with stop bar (8). A pressure medium chamber (37) of the telescopic cylinder is connected to a similar ram chamber (3), via a back pressure valve (35). A similar ram chamber (4) is connected to a medium tank (27) via a differential piston path dependant throttle valve (10). Tank and telescopic cylinder presusre chambers are connected via a back pressure valve (20). USE - Drive for high speed sheet metal.
