The duct shut-off member essentially comprises a closure plate (4) and a slide weight (3). The inlet opening of a duct line (1) is closed by the closure plate (4) and the slide weight (3) moving into the closure position and, in this position, the closure plate (4) being pressed against the inlet opening by the weight of the slide weight (3). In this arrangement, force transmission takes place via a connection (6) which acts on an inclined plane (7). A sealed closure is achieved with the aid of a seal (13) and a sealing seat (8) (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
