PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceiving member suitable for image formation using a coherent monochromatic light and easy in manufacture and maintenance by forming a multilayer-structured photoreceiving layer on a substrate having minutely roughened shapes on the surface. CONSTITUTION:The photoreceiving member is made by forming on the substrate not illustrated here having minute roughness smaller than required resolution, the photoreceiving layer having a multilayer structure of the first layer 601 made of a-SiGe(H,Y), X being halogen, the second photoconductive layer 602 made of a-Si(X,Y), and a surface layer not illustrated, on the inclined roughened surface of the substrate. The layer thickness of the second layer 602 is continuously changed and the interface 603 and the interface 604 incline from each other. The advancing directions of a reflected light R1 of the incident light Io and its reflected light R3 differ from each other, and even if interference occurs, the difference of light intensities in the interference fringes becomes negligibly small, and incident light intensity in a minute area l is averaged, and the incident light intensities in the whole layer region are made uniform. |
