Oil cooler

An oil cooler has a two-part housing through which water is guided, and in the housing a cooling block made from plate-shaped flat tubes through the interior of which the oil to be cooled is guided. Partitions which are directed transverse to the direction of flow of the cooling medium and to the plane of the flat tubes are arranged in the respective lateral gap between the outside of the cooling block and the adjacent wall of the housing. The partitions are formed on the inside of the housing from webs which are integral with at least a part of the housing, project inwards and bear against the outside of the cooling block approximately only by means of linear contact. The webs consist of beads. The latter reduce a bypass in the gap on the water side and permit compensation of manufacturing tolerances, doing so without additional, costly separate parts.
