Telephone station (1) comprising a housing upper part (2), base trough (3) and handset (4). The object of the invention is largely to exclude the risk of voltage flashover due to electrostatic discharges between the connection point of the base trough (3) and the housing upper part and the electronic components disposed inside the telephone housing. To achieve this object, the peripheral area (8) of the housing upper part (2) is matched in the connection area to the base trough (3) to the outlines of the base trough (3) and this peripheral area (8) overlaps the base trough (3) over a relatively large area. <IMAGE>
