The object of the invention is to heat pancakes or the like without human service and to dispense them to the customer. The problem is solved by storing the pancakes in a drum-like container. An individual pack with pancakes falls from there into the microwave oven, where it is heated, and is subsequently conveyed to the serving orifice by means of a dispensing mechanism. The pulse of the coin tester sets the drum-like container in motion. When the pancake pack reaches the lowest point, where an orifice is located on the immovable cover of the container, the pack falls out of the orifice via a chute device into the microwave oven. The falling of the pack out of the container is recorded by a photocell which emits the pulse for closing and switching on the microwave oven. The time relay controls the heating time and emits the pulse for opening the door, and at the same time the dispensing mechanism is set in motion and dispenses the pack to the serving orifice.
