The magnetic disk appts. contains a shield component (8), wwhich with the exception of magnetically recorded information to be read off by the magnetic reading head (3) prevents magnetism from penetrating into the magnetic reading head, held by a retaining device (9) in such a way that the shield component is adjustable vertically against the surface of the magnetic disk (11). The retaining device can be moved in such a way that a part of the shield component comes into contact with the perimeter rim of the magnetic disk. This fixes the shield's position. Subsequently, the shield component slides about, in order to create a necessary gap between the perimeter rim of the magnetic disk and the shield component.
