Spark erosion machine with laterally apertured vessel - delivers working fluid through gap between electrode arm and enclosing sealing sleeve

The spark erosion machine vessle (10) is moveable in two planes and has a side aperture (16), sealed by a shield (18) in sliding contact with the contg. wall. An arm (14), fixed at one end to a main part of the machine, protrudes through the aperture in the shield and that in the vessel side. A guide on the arm is provided fro an electrode wire to the work contained in the vessel. - A sleeve (100), sealed at the ends to the shield and to the main part (26) of the machine, extends and contracts with relative movement between the vessel and arm. A feed system (32) delivers working fluid to the vessel via the gap between the arm and sleeve.
