PURPOSE:To accomplish service interruption recovery recording when dew is dried and to facilitate an unmanned operation for monitoring and maintenance by rotating a fan motor in the case of dew condensation so that the dew may be dried immediately. CONSTITUTION:In the case of detecting that the dew is stuck to a tape traveling system, a dew condensation sensor 3 outputs a dew condensation signal 13 to a VTR control circuit 2. The VTR control circuit 2 makes a VTR in a state where it can not perform the actions such as recording and reproducing, etc., and rotates a cylinder 4 and the fan motor 8. When the dew inside of the VTR is dried and the dew condensation sensor 3 does not output the dew condensation signal 13, the VTR control circuit 2 stops the rotation of the cylinder 4 and the fan motor 8. By rotating the fan motor in the case of detecting that the dew is stuck to the tape traveling system, the dew is dried immediately. When the dew is dried, the service interruption recovery recording action is performed and the unmanned operation for monitoring and maintenance is facilitated.
