<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the average power consumption of an IC card by setting the IC card being in a state of waiting for a command to a stand-by state, and stopping a power supply to its MPU and a peripheral circuit during that period. CONSTITUTION:An MPU 22 has a function to be set to a regular operation mode for executing a processing corresponding to a command received from a handy terminal 1, and a stand-by mode for suppressing or stopping the power consumption of each built-in circuit. In this state, the MPU is initialized by turn-ON of a power source and becomes the regular operation mode, and also, becomes the regular operation mode from the stand-by mode by receiving a reset signal to a reset terminal 22b from the handy terminal 1. In such state, the stand-by mode enters after executing a processing by a prescribed command, therefore, in an EEPROM 25, a stand-by setting processing program 27a is stored, for instance, by down-load. In such a way, the power consumption of an IC card is reduced, and it can be driven for many hours.</p> |
