PURPOSE:To enhance durability, etc., by laminating the first specified amorphous layer, the second layer, and the surface layer on a substrate provided with a large number of specified protuberances on the surface and incorporating Ge in the first layer in a Ge distribution nonuniform in the layer thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A light receiving member 1004 is prepared by forming on its substrate 1001 a photoreceiving layer 1000 composed of the first layer 1002 made of a-Si contg. Ge, the second photoconductive layer 1003, and the surface layer 1005 each laminated in succession from the side of the substrate 1001. Ge is incorporated into the first layer 1002 in a distribution continuous and richer in the layer thickness direction toward the side of the substrate 1001. Ge is not incorporated into the second layer 1003. |
