A process to monitor and service a rotor spinning unit by means of a robot on the frame, and in the event of an unsuccessful attempt to restart, the robot switches off the unit, and moves to another one. The appts. is also claimed. ADVANTAGE - The unit is automatically shut down in the event of a malfunction, which if persistently run, would cause a hazardous situation, or a breakdown.
