PURPOSE:To make a multicolor display by forming a transparent electrode on a color filter and then coating the electrode with a photosensitive material which cuts off light, and forming a light shield film at a color filter gap part by using the photosensitive material as a mask while using the color filter as a mask. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 22 is formed in a prescribed shape on a substrate 21 and the color filter 23 is formed on the transparent electrode 22. Then the color filter 23 is dyed with an ultraviolet-ray absorber and an overcoat layer 26 is formed on the entire surface of the color filter. Then a transparent electrode 28 is formed on the overcoat layer 26. Then the entire surface is coated with the photosensitive material containing black dystuff, the material is baked and exposed from the reverse surface of the substrate 21, and development is carried out. The photosensitive material on the transparent electrode 28 is dissolved out and the light shield film 27 is formed only at the gap parts of the color filter 23. This color filter is used to make the multicolor display. |
