A packaging assembly for removably storing unitary packages e.g. cigarette packets 4 within a confined space includes a surrounding retaining wall defining a carton 3 in which the packets 4 can be stored and spacer means 12 to hold the packets 4 in snugly stored position. Digital access structure is provided in the spacer means to permit selective package removal. The spacer means 12 have central openings 13 and recesses along their outer edges to facilitate access to the packets 4. <IMAGE>
