The sidewall of the tyre is moulded with a succession of teeth which engage those of the pinion driving the dynamo. To eliminate the need to move the pinion into and out of mesh, the pinion may have a smooth rim over wwhich a rubber or plastic cap with teeth can be fitted when it is necessary to use the dynamo. A plastic -bonded wire brush may also be used. ADVANTAGE - Drive is not impaired by loss of friction tyre surface dur to moisture, snow or dirt.
