PURPOSE: To automatically maintain the oxygenation gas pressure, by providing a device for automatically maintaining the total pressure of oxygenation gas to be close to and less than the total pressure of blood. CONSTITUTION: The device 10 comprises a hollow membrane oxygenator 12, a heat exchanger 14, a venous blood cistern 16 and a pressure applying valve 17 of the oxygenation gas. The venous blood is extracted from a patient to be fed to the device 10 through a medical-class tube 18. The tube 18 is attached to the venous blood cistern 16 and a blood inlet 20, and the venous blood flows into a body 22 through a filter 24. A tube 76 has an inlet 80 fluid-communicating with a second outlet 42 of a housing 34; the tube has an outlet 82 fluid- communicating with a hole 78 penetrating a housing 70 of the valve 17; and the pressure of a region between the housing 70 and an inward tube 64 approaches the blood pressure flowing out of the inlet 80 of the tube 76. The pressure of the oxygenation gas adjusts itself to be close to but lower than the blood pressure due to the constitution, position and acion of the tube 76 together with a transformer 84 and the valve 17.
