The invention proposes a hydraulically actuated braking device, particularly for spot-type disc brakes, with a piston (10) which is arranged in a housing bore (2) and the piston end of which that points in the actuating direction and projects from the housing bore (2) engages on a friction lining (1) interacting with a brake disc (12), with a heat shield (3) that can be mounted at the end of the piston on the circumferential surface of the piston, and with a flexible folding sleeve (9) which is secured behind the heat shield (3), the first end section (13) of which is secured on the circumference of the piston (10) and the second end section (14) of which is likewise secured with a cylindrical part, the face (2) of the heat shield (3) facing away from the brake lining (1) having properties associated with low thermal conductivity and/or heat radiation and the face (4) of the heat shield (3) facing the brake lining (1) having properties associated with good heat radiation. Heat shields hitherto used have the disadvantage that, when the material is heated up, radiated heat is released on all sides and, as a result, particularly in the case of inadequate air ventilation of the brake, the heat radiation leads to premature damage to the adjoining temperature-sensitive folding sleeve. The heat shield arranged and designed in accordance with the invention lowers the thermal stress and thus increases the functional reliability of the folding sleeve. <IMAGE>
