The window or door frame installation in a building wall uses a profiled component to define the opening in which the frame is to be fixed. The component (1) is of rigid, vapour-reistant material, with a rigid end face (7), and a flange (8) forming an internal shoulder. The end face is flat, forming a support for the surrounding masonry. The flange protrudes inside the opening from a middle portion of the end face, with the component anchored by the latter in the masonry.
