The crossroads without traffic lights is particularly for motorways and trunk roads, both the intersecting roads and the left-handed bends from them passing one above the other. The individual lanes (1, 2) of the intersecting roads (A,B) spread apart at the intersection, having individual overpasses and underpasses (9-12) at the four corners (a-d) of the square so formed. A left- and a right banded bend (3,4) branch off from each lane at the intersection. The right-handed bends (4) run outside the square and: the left-handed ones (3) inside it via connecting lanes (5-8) an underpass (21) being provided where the latter cross. USE/ADVANTAGE - Crossroads junction for motorways costs little to construct, with curves of relatively large radius, and requires little space. (5pp Dwg.No.1/1)
