A method and apparatus for allocating the number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes, which relate to the fields of WCDMA and subsequent evolution thereof. The method comprises: pre-allocating the number of HARQ processes, and calculating an HARQ round trip delay; and according to the pre-allocated number of HARQ processes and the HARQ round trip delay, obtaining the actual number of the HARQ processes. The apparatus comprises: a pre-allocation module and an actual allocation module. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, the number of times of scheduling of an HSDPA user is increased, thereby achieving the effects of improving the rate of the HSDPA user and a cell HSDPA throughput rate, and greatly improving user satisfaction. |
