The arrangement contains several GPS antennae mounted on the vehicle and a device for computing the vehicle position from the signals received by the antennae from satellites. None of the antennae is mounted on the roof of the vehicle The satellites from which the antennae can receive signals for positioning are computed from the known satellite positions, the vehicle geometry and measured direction and the antenna positions.
