PURPOSE: To easily arrange a printing press roller on a printing press by bringing about the axial operation of a roller covering in the relation to a roller shaft by the inflow and outflow of a pressure fluid from an axial variable vol. CONSTITUTION: The annular piston member 58 abutted to the outside of a ring clip 56 is provided on a fixed shaft 40 in a slidable manner and an annular cylinder member 64 also slides on the shaft 40 and, by introducing air into the axially variable vol. space constituted between the piston member 58 and the cylinder member 64, the cylinder member 64 is moved to the left. The axial motion of the cylinder member is transmitted to an annular sleeve 72. A roller covering 88 and a core 86 are attached in a rotatable manner by a ball bearing 76 and the axial motion is perfectly separated from rotary motion.
