PURPOSE:To provide the title recording material imparting a recording image excellent in stability and generating no blur of the recording image at the time of plasticizer-resistant treatment by incorporating a specific compound in an intermediate layer and/or a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording layer utilizing the color forming reaction of a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a coupler capable of forming a color through the contact with said dye is provided to a support. An intermediate layer containing oil absorbable pigment having oil absorbancy of 80 - 300cc/100g is provided between the support and the thermal recording layer. A diphenylsulfone derivative represented by formula I (wherein R<1> is a group represented by formula II, R<2> is H or an alkyl group, X<1> and X<2> are a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group, m is 0 or 1, p is an integer of 0 - 5 and q is an integer of 0 - 4) is contained in said intermediate layer and has effect for improving the preservability of a recording image. By providing the intermediate layer containing pigment having specific oil absorbancy, the blur of recording is prevented and a thermal recording material excellent in the mechanical reading aptitude of a bar code is obtained. |
