PURPOSE:To obtain the title image receiving sheet imparting an image having high sensitivity and high density and excellent in preservability against heat, light and humidity by incorporating a phenol derivative of a terpene compound in a dye image receiving layer as a sensitizer-stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:The dye thermal transfer image receiving sheet has a sheet like base material and the dye image receiving layer formed on at least one surface of said base material and containing a mixture of a phenol derivative of a terpene compound and a polyester resin as a main component. The dye image receiving layer is dyed with the dye from an ink sheet, that is, sublimable disperse dye therefrom to form and hold an image. Herein, the dye image receiving layer is based on a polyester resin easily dyed with the sublimable disperse dye and formed from a polyester resin composition having a release agent, white pigment compounded therewith if necessary. Especially, a phenol derivative of the terpene compound such as limonene is compounded with the polyester resin as a sensitizer-stabilizer. By this method, the dye thermal transfer image receiving sheet wherein the image receptivity, sensitivity and density of the dye image receiving layer are well and the transfer speed to the surface of a recording sheet as well as the density of the image thereon are high and fading due to heat is reduced and light fastness is well is obtained. |
