PURPOSE:To allow uniform orientation over the entire part of the panel by subjecting the surfaces of two sheets of substrates having transparent electrodes to a rubbing treatment, then providing oriented films on these surfaces respectively, and subjecting the surfaces again to the rubbing treatment. CONSTITUTION:The transparent electrodes 3, 4 consisting of transparent conductive films (ITO films) are formed on two sheets of the transparent glass substrates 1, 2. After the glass substrates 1, 2 are cleaned, the surfaces thereof are subjected to the rubbing treatment by using a rubbing cloth made of rayon. A polyimide resin is applied by a spinner as the oriented films 5, 6 on the surfaces provided with the transparent electrodes 3, 4 of the glass substrates 1, 2 and thereafter, the surfaces of the oriented films 5, 6 are subjected again to the rubbing treatment. The liquid crystal panel exhibiting the uniform orientation without having defects is obtd. in this way. |
