<p>APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REAL TIME RECONSTRUCTION OF DIGITAL MAP DATA Apparatus and method for real time reconstruction of digital map data are disclosed, wherein symbology commands representing the total area covered by a map are stored in bulk in compressed form. A symbol generator draws the symbology commands into a working memory device having a plurality of memory components, each of which is equivalent to a local display area. The memory components are received by a display memory device which contains an element by element digital representation of a map picture for conversion into video signals for driving a display device to display the map picture.</p> |
