A disposable absorbent article esp. a diaper comprises an absorbent pad with four projecting tabs. These are used to hold the diaper in place round the waist of the wearer. Pref. the tabs carry hook-and-loop fasteners on one face. Pref. two of the tabs also carry extra hook-and-loop fasteners on their reverse faces. These extra fasteners are used to secure the diaper when it is rolled up ready for disposal.
