OUTLINE FORM METHOD OF STRUCTURE

Structural shape data are provided for a computer model of a workpiece which has to be formed. The controur of the workpiece (1) and of the section of the tool, are fitted into a raster scheme, suitable for the movement of the tool. The points of a two dimensional graph, stored in a memory, are used to study the progress of the shape produced by the tool in the X and Y directions and also in the Z direction as time passes. At each point of the corresp. raster or scanning field the height of a point on the piece above a datum is combined with the programmed depth of the tool and the changing shape produced in model form can be shown on a screen.
