PURPOSE:To obtain alloy powder having excellent fluidity with almost no variation in the oxygen content in the alloy powder with the lapse of time during storing by specifying particle diameter of cobalt powder raw material to be used and introducing a heat treating stage after or before executing wet- treatment. CONSTITUTION:After heating mixed material of rare earth metal oxide powder and the cobalt powder and at least one kind selected from among alkali metal, alkali earth metal and hydride thereof under non-oxidizing atmosphere, the wet-treatment is executed to the obtd. reaction product to manufacture rare earth metal-cobalt 1-5 series alloy powder. Then, the average particle diameter of the cobalt powder is made >=10mum and after executing the wet-treatment, the heat treatment is executed to this at 500 - 800 deg.C under non-oxidizing atmosphere. As the result, the variation of the oxygen content in the alloy powder during storing with the lapse of time is restrained and RCO3 alloy powder having good fluidity can be manufactured. |
