Method for operating bending presses, especially press brakes, uses sensors (32) to determine parameters related to the actual values of the restoring force on the press beam (8), uprights (3, 4) and drive system (9, 10) and the reactive force of the workpiece at the beam reversing position. These are compared with desired values stored in a computer (36) and reduced to a value which allows rapid return of the ram to its upper position. |
