The vehicle has a detection device to detect an actual route (24) traveled by the motor vehicle and an actual position of the motor vehicle on the route, and a storage device comprising route-specific traffic sign information. A control device controls an output unit utilized for outputting the route-specific traffic sign information. The traffic sign information comprises information (I1) relating to a traffic sign (22) ahead of the actual position of the motor vehicle on the route, and another information (I2) representing distance between the traffic signal ahead and the actual position. The traffic sign is selected from a group comprising of a mandatory sign, a prohibition sign, a danger sign and a speed limit. The traffic sign information is selected from a group comprising of actual vehicle speed, vehicle dimensions, and vehicle weight. The output unit is selected form a display (6) and/or a loudspeaker. The route is selected from a motorway, a country road and a road within a village. |
