The shotgun has a firing mechanism equipped with a rifle bolt housing and a deadlock. The firing mechanism has for each barrel a strike hammer (2, 2'), tensioner and a firing mechanism. The strike hammer (2, 2') is arranged to be tensioned in connection with the recoil of the barrel, and it has a counterbalance (10) resting against the threshold (14) of the locking device in tensioned (7) position and where the tensioner (7) is to be lifted up with the help of the firing mechanism to release the counterbalance (10) and the whole strike hammer (2, 2') for a strike. According to the invention, the counterbalance (10) of a tappet that is pressed into the strike hammer (2, 2') and a spring fixed beneath this tappet (11) which presses this forward from the surface of the strike hammer (2, 2'), and the counterbalance (10) has been arranged to be pressed in when the strike hammer (2, 2') is tensioned and the shotgun is secured.<IMAGE>
