<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the effect of a magnetic field of other phase and to enable execution of highly precise and stable measurement by making the light passing part of a polarizer and an analyzer coincide with a circuiting optical path inside a Faraday effect element. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular cut part 15 is provided at one corner of a rectangular Faraday effect element having a conductor 1 pierced through a through hole phi in the central part, and an analyzer 8 and a polarizer 7 are disposed therein sequentially on the running direction side of the conductor 1. A parallel light A0 turns to be a linear polarized light A after passing through the polarizer 7, advances straight in parallel onto the side of the element 2, is totally reflected on points (a), (b) and (c) and reaches the position of the polarizer 7. The center O of the light passing part of the polarizer 7 and the analyzer 8 coincides with a circuiting optical path inside the element 2 when it is viewed from the running direction of the conductor 1, and therefore a linear polarization part depending on the intensity of a magnetic field exists in a closed loop. Accordingly, highly precise and stable measurement can be executed without being affected nearly at all by a magnetic field of other phase.</p> |
