PURPOSE:To obtain an image receiving sheet which dispenses with the use of a solvent when an image-receiving layer is formed, has a high gloss, is smoothly separable from a sheet for color development after thermal transfer and recording, and allows a high-density, well-preservable and highly stable recorded image to be received by applying a composition which does not contain a solvent in which a specific macromonomer is dissolved in an ionized radiation-curable monomer and/or oligomer and projecting an ionized radiation, on a basic material. CONSTITUTION:An application composition is applied on a basic material. The composition does not contain a solvent obtained by dissolving (A) a macromonomer which is dyed with sublimable dye, has a radical-polymerizable functional group at one of the terminals of a molecular chain and is solid at normal temperature in (B) a liquid ionized radiation-curable monomer and/or oligomer. After application of the composition, ionized radiation is projected to the coat to form an image-receiving layer. The macromonomer has a polymerizable functional group such as a (meth) acryloyl group or an aryl group introduced at one of the terminals of a polymer or a copolymer with a comparatively low molecular weight. However, the preferable polymerizable functional group is a highly reactive (meth)acryloyl group under projected ionized radiation. |
