PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of the juncture of ribbon structure coated optical fibers by providing a heater, guide grooves for optical fibers and clampers for clamping the optical fibers near the guide grooves. CONSTITUTION:This device has the heater 2 which houses and heats the optical fiber juncture put thereon with a heat shrinkable tube, the guide grooves 25, 26 which are positioned on both sides of the heater 2 and are used to guide the optical fibers, and the clampers 3, 4 which are respectively provided near the guide grooves 25, 26 and are used to clamp the optical fibers. Disposing of the optical fibers straightforward in the heater 2 and setting of the respective coated fibers of the ribbon structure coated optical fibers in an arrayed state to the heater 2 are, therefore, possible if the optical fibers after the connection are disposed along the guide grooves 25, 26. The integral reinforcing of the ribbon structure coated optical fibers in the arrayed state and the improvement in the reliability are enabled in this way. |
