PURPOSE:To improve the apparent resolution, by converting a black signal adjacent to a white signal into a white picture signal, when three consecutive bits of a binary picture signal correspond to white, black, black or black, black, white, in a facsimile device. CONSTITUTION:When a picture signal (a) is inputted to an input terminal from the left in sequential bit-serial, a picture signal (b) is obtained from an output terminal 2. When three consecutive bits as bits F,G,H of the picture signal (a) are black, black, white, then the black bit G adjacent to white is converted into white from black as the bit G of the picture signal (b). Thus, in recording based on this picture signal, a reproduced picture (c) is obtained. In this reproduced picture (c), sufficient white region is reproduced between black picture element groups J and K, allowing to improve apparent resolution. |
