PURPOSE:To carry out high speed and low speed copying by controlling the shape, intensity, and the irradiating time of the beam exposed on a photosensitive body responding to the scanning speed of an optical scanner by making variable the processing speed and the scanning speed of the optical scanner in the sub scanning direction of the electrophotographic process. CONSTITUTION:The processing speed of the electrophotographic process, including the rotating speed of the photosensitive drum and/or a fixing roller can be set arbitrarily by an operator or a servicing person with a processing speed setting part 101, by an inputting means provided in a controlling part. Then, when the rotating speed of the photosensitive drum is changed and the scanning speed in the sub scanning direction is changed, the fixing conditions of; light quantity, electrical potential, developing bias value, transferring current, cleaning pressure, pressure, and temperature are controlled to be changed by CPU 100, responding to them. Thus, at least one among shape, intensity, or irradiating time of the beam exposed to the photosensitive body is controlled responding to the scanning speed of the optical scanner. Thus, high speed copying and low speed copying can be carried out with high quality image. |
