The present disclosure is related to an automatic gauge for large area solar simulators and can be considered within the optoelectronics applied to technologies for the production of renewable energy field. This invention is used in the calibration and classification according to international standards of large area solar simulators conducting tests of photovoltaic devices. The automatic gauge for large area solar simulators is made of a rigid and light structure to support the whole device and allow the movement of a based reference bridge to perform a sweep of at least one meter long. The based reference bridge hosts solar cells to cover a length equal to the sweep and additionally allows the movement of a reference solar cell WPVS-type along its length. With these two movements and an electronic control for the movement and measurement of the irradiance of the solar cells, the automatic gauge for large area solar simulators, can perform the measurement of the irradiance uniformity , intensity stability and spectral standoff of a continuous or pulsed solar simulator with direct traceability of its measurements to the international unit system. |
