PURPOSE:To make a white stripe inconspicuous without the need for a complicated control in the electric heat-generation of resistors on a thermal head by a method wherein the heating resistor belonging to each group is electrically heated simultaneously with the electric heat-generation of the group including the adjacent resistor by a half of the electric heat-generation time therefor. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head is driven so that in four groups G1 - G4 each consisting of two or more resistors the resistor can be electrically heated simultaneously with the electric heat-generation of the group including the adjacent resistor by a half of the conduction time therefor. The resistors belonging to the group G1 are electrically heated in conduction times (a), (b), the resistors belonging to the group G2 are electrically heated in conduction times (a), (c), the resistors belonging to the group G3 are electrically heated in conduction times (c), (d), and the resistors belonging to the group G4 are electrically heated in conduction times (b), (d). Data for one line is transfer- recorded during the conduction times (a), (b), (c), (d). Although the resistors on the head and the electric heat-generation time are divided into groups, the simultaneous heat generation of every resistor with the adjacent resistor by a half of the conduction time therefor prevents a white stripe caused by the split drive of the resistors.
|
