COLLIMATOR TUBE PRESSED IN ONE PIECE

The design of the collimator pressed as a single piece with the refracting and reflecting parts optically linked ensures improved efficiency of the source light beam without increase of the axial dimensions of the pressing made in a single pass. The concave reflector exhibits an axial aperture facing the refractor and surrounding the refractor (1),the normal to the frontal surface of the reflector at any point featuring a positive projection on the collimator axis. Part of the refractor is in the form of an annular collecting lens with axis aligned with the axis of the collimator. It also intersects the reflector and the normal of the outside surface of the annular lens has a positive projection on the collimator axis from any point, whereas the normal of the inside surface has a negative projection. - The monolithic single pass pressing of plastics or glass has its refractor (1) formed by the concave reflector (2) with a common focus (F) on its axis 00' where the light source is held. The linear angle of wrap of the refractor reaches 260 deg. and it combines the disc lens (3) and annular lens (4) with edge aligned to the i.d. of the reflector (2). The reduced material content of the lens (4) in the case of a large angle of wrap is achieved by the Fresnel dioptric rings (5,6) while the reflector is made up of prismatic catadioptric rings (7).
