The subject of the invention is an apparatus for rapid and predictive determination of the degree of moisture in a material, of the type which forms the subject of the main patent, as well as a method making use thereof, characterised in that the heating of the sample is repeatedly interrupted, at least in the final phase of the heating. The invention applies more particularly to the analysis of metallurgical coke samples.
