The present invention relates to a regulating flow valve of the butterfly type with free expansion and autoclave application. This valve includes a valve body 40 in which is mounted a movable stopper 44 provided with a sealing bearing surface 47 shaped to interact via a sealed planar contact with a seat 48 which is made in the valve body and which forms a stopping plane P, a control member mechanically connected to the stopper and interacting with means for guiding the stopper at least translationally so as to move it substantially rectilinearly, parallel to the stopping plane, this translational movement allowing the bearing surface to slide in frictional contact on the seat in the stopping plane P and making sure that, upon opening, a crescent-shaped opening appears causing the upstream-downstream pressure difference to drop, characterised in that it additionally includes a means for rotationally guiding the stopper or inner capsule about at least one axis of rotation, parallel to the stopping plane and perpendicular to the axis of movement of the control member. This valve applies to the transportation of fluids or of powdered products under conditions of high temperature and high pressure. <IMAGE>
