PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a solid reducing agent for denitrifying reaction by mixing a reducing agent comprising nitrogen-contg. compd. with water and hydrolyzing at least one part of the reducing agent and injecting the hydrolyzed reducing agent into the gas to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Dnitrifying reaction is performed by injecting a reducing agent (e.g. urea) comprising nitrogen-contg. compd. being solid at ordinary temp. and ordinary pressure into the gas to be treated contg. nitrogen oxide and then bringing this gas into contact with a catalyst 9 contg. transition metallic components. In a hydrolysis vessel 4, the reducing agent comprising nitrogen- contg. compd. is mixed with water and at least one part of the reducing agent is hydrolyzed. Furthermore the reducing agent which has been hydrolyzed in at least one part thereof is injected into the above-mentioned gas to be treated by a carrier means 8. As a result, control of loadings of the solid reducing agent is made easy and further generation of white smoke and clogging of a flue are prevented. The solid reducing agent is effectively utilized for this denitrifying reaction. |
