<p>PURPOSE:To deodorize waste water in two stages by collecting the malodorous gas generated in a sewage treating device, passing the gas through an adsorption tower packed with carbonaceous particulate matter and supplying the used particulate matter to an aeration tank, etc. CONSTITUTION:Waste water is pretreated in a sedimentation basin and an initial settling basin in the waste water treatment by the activated sludge process, and then aerobically treated in the aeration tank. The supernatant is discharged in the settling tank, and the sludge is separated and treated. The malodorous gas generated everywhere in the sewage treating device is collected, and passes through the adsorption tower 1 packed with carbonaceous granular body 3 or the mixture contg. >=60wt.% of the carbonaceous granular body 3 and the balance silicic granular body to remove the malodor. The granular body 3 in the tower 1 used in the deodorization of the gas is discharged from the tower 1, and supplied to the aeration tank or other treating tank. As a result, the malodor generated from treated water is eliminated by the same adsorbent in liq. and gaseous phases, and the rancidity is reduced.</p> |
