COMPOSITION WITH VIBRATION-DAMPING NATURE AND VIBRATION-DAMPING MATERIAL FORMED THEREFROM

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition with little asphalt odor in its kneading operation and capable of giving vibration damping materials having highly vibration-damping performance and moderate adhesive followability by incorporating a petroleum resin with asphalt and mica at specified proportion. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. of a petroleum resin, pref. isopropenyltoluene-based petroleum resin (pref. 80-140 deg.C in softening point) or aromatic petroleum resin (pref. 80-150 deg.C in softening point), (B) 90-400 (pref. 150-350) pts.wt. of asphalt, pref. fat-modified blown asphalt 20-30 in penetration and (C) 100-500 (pref. 150-400) pts.wt. of mica, pref. 50-200 in aspect ratio with such a granular size distribution that >=80% of the whole granules are 50 mesh-passable. This composition can be obtained by kneading the component A with the component B followed by component C at such a weight ratio as B/C<1.
