The invention relates to metal sections of particular cross-section making it possible to produce supporting structures of polygonal cross-section, most generally of equilateral triangle shape. Its cross-section has the shape of a V, the 2 branches 1, 2 of which between them form an angle delta lying between 50 and 90 DEG . It may also include a heel 3 and two lateral reinforcements 4, 5. They make it possible to erect supporting structures on a polygonal base of prismatic or pyramid shape with a limited number of sections of homothetic cross-section. The connections are made by bolting, riveting, or wedging (clips).
